with moonlight night is concrete gray

when moonlight lacks its pocket black

but when sunrise starts the color is new

we need new words to paint the hue

too dark for blue too light for gray

with brush of whimsy new shy day

the cosmos' wonders, the firmaments grace

beauty to squander wonders to waste

mulberry skies and clouds of lace

its our little stone spinning in space

the majestic transformation that you slept through

now open your eyes the days waiting for you
