Once upon a time

A flower bloomed

With the brightest of color

Her color glowed

For all the world to see

And she was happy

But darkness lurked above

The grayest of clouds

A storm was about to rage.

Her petals closed

She shrunk back in fear

The wind slashed around her

Howling with power

Rain drenched her;

Weighed her down

Slowly her color dimmed

Within that storm around and inside

And when the sun shined once more,

That little flower

No longer grew.
