Sweat, blood, matter
An exhausted body
Deflated balloon
The lullaby of her triumphant breath
"I brought him into the world"
Matted hair
Sticky skin
Sterile environment, the nurses quiet but proud
We have no concept of what we've won today
The battle was fought by the only soldier that could
When he opens his eyes, holding my finger
Suddenly I understand
This is who I fought for
This is who I'll cradle for the rest of forever
