In the evening when darkness falls

in endless ebon ribbons unbound.

The sky  becomes a ghosting quilt

the world full of nightly sound.

The sea breeze crawls across my skin

and sleep devours my waking soul.

The ocean becomes a wanting  woman

whose heart  is black as coal.

Her daughters  appear  from the depths

sirens one and all.

They tease my senses endlessly

with their infernal call.

I hear the mermaids singing

it sets my body aflame.

I hear the mermaids singing

saying I'll be glad I came.

Their words whisper across my thighs

and caress my sex.

Their blood is hell hound night shade

their eyes  a satinteen hex.

Their touch is velvet purgatory

their skin silken abduction.

Their lust filled moans conquer your fear

their bodies ubiquitous seduction.

I hear the mermaids singing

my drowning heart they promise to save.

I hear the mermaids singing

they want the sea to be my grave.
