What if my elders had never met?
What if I had never been born?
What if they had said ‘enough’,
Would my life have been scorned?

What if I had never been found,
Would my mother live with herself?
What if my father never forgave,
Would my memories lay folded, forgotten on a shelf?

What if that stranger hadn’t been a kind, old man,
Would I live to see 21 years?
What if that stranger hadn’t been a kind, old man,
Would I live to be here?

What if I fought back all those times,
Would I lose someone dear to me?
What if I chose to stay with them,
Would the mirror be what I feared to see?

What if I hadn’t realized they were right,
Would I have ended my life?
What if I had told them what really happened,
Would he still be in strife?

What if I didn’t come over my fears,
Would I be satisfied?

What if I never become a man,
Will I live rationalized lies?
