Feeling threatened and finally saying good bye.

lonely noose…
There was a noose around my neck.
I didn’t even notice at first.
Me.
Walking on a thin, thin line.
One wrong step
And I would pay greatly.
Pay greatly indeed.
My breath becomes gasps.
Not being able to breathe.
Feeling threatened
No matter where I went.
The noose was so tight
I could barely breathe!

I couldn’t take it.
So I turned to the person,
Controlling the noose.
I smiled and told the person
“Sorry but you have no power anymore.”

I tug the noose over my head.
I breathe in that sweet air.
That sweet…
Freedom.
I jumped off the thin line,
To the safe ground below.
I smile up at the person
With the lonely noose in their hand.
I waved good bye,
With a smile.
I look to the ground,
Letting one single tear escape
And fall to the floor.
Secretly saying farewell to my old life.
 And the once terrible
But now lonely noose.
