To love someone so much and get so little in return.

Twisting and turning on one foot

Pretty in pink, simply put.

Hair tied up in a nice, neat bow.

Face made up if only for show.

You keep me high on your Pedestal.

Though your reasons are rather cruel.

You keep me high up on your shelf

Only to have me all to yourself.

Its lonely here in my little world,

as I wait to see what may unfurl.

I only get to see a glimpse of light

now and then, only to be shut away tight.

I’m your pretty little ballerina in a box.

My life consists of you and a gold lock.

Open me and I will twirl for you on cue.

Watch me spin and smile, enjoy the view.

I’m just a pretty thing to look at-

Just an object, to you it’s a fact.

I’ll never be able to stand next to you

To be your equal, to truly love you.

I’ll forever be a beautiful ballerina

Stuck in this box, in your arena.

Beauty put up for no one to see.

Except for the mirror, which is me.
