BITTERSWEET

SHE TOLD ME SHE LOVED ME AND SHE’D NEVER LEAVE.SHE USED TO HOLD ME AND MY PAIN SHE WOULD EASE. NOW I FELT THE COLD RISING UP MY SPINE. THIS IS A FEELING I DON’T KNOW-IT’S NOT MINE! I CRY FOR HER BUT MY ECHO IS MY ONLY FRIEND. WHERE WAS SHE AT, IS THIS REALLY THE END?! MY TEARS ARE FALLING NOW FASTER AND FASTER DOWN MY FACE. ALL I CAN THINK ABOT IS HER SWEET EMBRACE. WHY HAS SHE LEFT ME?! I CRY INTO THE DARK. JUST THEN IN THE DISTANCE, I SAW A SPARK. EXCITED, I ROSE UP OUT OF MY BALL OF GUILT AND SORROW. WHO COULD THAT BE IN THE DISTANCE? I SCREAMED, “HELLO?! WHO IS IT? HELLO?!” NO ANSWER CAME BUT I FELT A CALM COME OVER ME. A VOICE SO POWERFUL YET COMFORTING SPOKE TO ME. HE SAID, “CHILD, DO NOT WORRY, FOR SHE IS WITH ME.” I FELT CLOAKED IN A WARM BLANKET AS I WONDERED, “WHO WAS HE?”

“CHILD, GO NOW AND LIVE YOUR LIFE. YOU RMOTHER IS WITH ME AND NOW SHE IS FREE.” I’LL NEVER FORGET THAT BITTERSWEET NIGHT. I LOST MY MOTHER BUT GAINED TRUE INSIGHT. NOW I LIVE FOR HIM UNTIL HE CALLS ME TO MY OWN BITTERSWEET END.
