Unstoppable Terror

The night started much like all the others in the summer. Lonely I went out for a stroll towards the end of the night. For some time on that stroll I had had the feeling that someone was watching me in my search for a soul mate. I was not alone in that search, but it may have come to a premature end. On my walk I came across a sight that was quite gruesome. I was not sure what I was looking at, but I was fascinated by it so. The blood was spread over every inch of the small inlet. I could see so many hand prints that I could not tell where one stopped and the next one began, or if they were all from the same person. It was clear to me that something horrendous had happened here. Clumps of hair and pieces of flesh were scattered about like someone had been mutilated there. I could smell the aroma of blood in the air; it was almost metallic in nature. In among the hands there was one single set of foot prints. They lead off into the darkness of an ally way. Slowly following them deep into the blackness and just at the edge of the pitch, I heard a sharp inhale of breath. I was put aback by this and almost turned to walk away, but it was like I was drawn to it or as if It was waiting for me. What was happening to me? My breath quickened as my eyes began to focus on the shape that I was approaching hidden in the corner of this dead end ally. Slowly it was coming into focus and I started to see parts of this image come together. My heart was pounding in my chest at the strange excitement I felt. I could see the teardrop shaped blood falling from its mouth. Its claws filled with the flesh of his pray. The stench of blood and fear filled the air around this beast of an animal. What was this beast and was it so evil that it could have torn a person apart? Where had this terror come from? Was this thing living among us undetected? Just then with one final blink of my eyes this monster comes into full view. What was this…it was me…I did this!
