Some hidden things,
Hidden from the swinging light,
On the chain in the basement that casts
Oblong, obtuse, abstract, shadows on the walls and
The floor.

Some hidden things,
In the dark corners,
With the cobwebs
And the dust
And the memories that no one wants to
Remember—
Untouched for so long,
Desolate, destitute
On the breadline of the mind,
Waiting for the free lunch
That we won’t give it.

Some hidden things—
Some cracked and shaking
Façade.
Some lost doors
Opening to nothing
But the void.
