a SEASONAL POEM ON THE BEAUTYB OF WALK IN THE WOODS ON A FALL DAY.

AUTUMN HYMN

I VISITED A CATHERAL TODAY

NOT ONE OF STEEPLES AND INCENSE

BUT ONE OF OPEN SKY AND STAINED-

GLASS COLORS OF SUN-LIT LEAVES

WIND WHIPPED PRAYERS STIRRED THE

CONGREGATION OF QUAKING TREES AND

DERVISH MOTES OF DUST DANCED

ACROSS MY PATH

HAWKS IN FEATHERED VESTMENTS STREAMED

OVERHEAD ON THEIR YEARLY PILGRAMAGE

SOUTH

MY SOUL LIFTED TO JOIN THEM

I FELT THE ECTASY, THE STATE OF GRACE

NO SERMON OR PAGEANT CONCIEVED BY MAN

COMPARED TO THIS…THIS

MAGNIFICENSE!
