Our Home ____________________________________________

We built our home in the spring of our love

With redwood that would keep us warm with the

California sun it stored for hundreds of years

With the old bricks we chose because they already knew how to how to hold up a house

We smiled and claimed they had "experience"

With big windows to bring the gardens you would make inside

For us as well as outside

We lived through the long wonderful summer of our lives there

When it came time, your son and I held you ..and the house did too

To tell you we loved you in that final goodbye

Many years have gone by as that which was you faded from the house

There was so much of you..it has taken a long time

And now you are truly gone and our home has gone with you
