Red traffic lights blurred by the rain
Scraped up knees were the only pain
Frustration by Monday morning math
Speeding highways, traffic wrath

Growing up felt so far away
Now things have gone the other way
I used to pull you back to stay
But that was only yesterday

Ripping out the diary page
These words weren't spoken, not today
Ripping out the memories that fade
That didn't happen yesterday
I can scream but what would it do?
Is everything just useless to you?
I'm so far above your level
And I'm trying to get you up here with me
But you don't have the skills to see
That you are so far different from me
You just smile along and say
You don't care about that torn up page
