On a break from work alone one day,

I closed my eyes and felt the suns rays.

The prodigal sun shone down on my face

Through the mild windy weather weve had since December.

I lay on the grass

I thought of old faces of the past

Younger years spent in school

On hot sunny mornings in the classroom.

Its ten years ago I remember the days

Of lessons and daydreams

From the first of September.

I loved my youth.

Oh how I loved my youth
