What is that noise from outside my window?

It keeps me from sleeping as I stare at my pillow.

And although the dawn of the day is coming

I can hear a faint sound of somebody humming.

 

A female soft voice getting louder and closer

To my dark bedroom window I dare not to open.

For my grandmother told me when noones around,

The soul of a woman haunts this old ground.

 

I remember this story from a long time ago,

Told by my gran and by her gran before.

And although a lot older

And wise to the world,

I still fear the tale of the ghost on the moor.
