Why is it that I work this way?

Follow the leader to my own beat leads me astray.

I take a leap, a bound,

I’m restricted by me and I fall to the ground.

No ladder to climb unless going down,

I’m asked to smile, but if you knew me, you’d frown,

So stop grinning and prancing like everything’s fine,

Because frankly, you’re just getting in line,

A line so thick with suits and work boots,

What looks like a ladder is truly a shoot,

So get in line, doesn’t matter who you are,

You’re smiling to be 16 and drive a car,

But you fail to see what awaits us all,

Death, God’s game, to it everyone will fall.
