I am from shattered wooden spoons,
From Arizona Tea and ice cold Coca Cola
I am from the small house with a tire swing
And the apartment with no yard.
I am from tomato plants, the pruned rose bushes,
And the always rainy days.
I'm from Thanksgiving dinners large enough for twenty-five
And accidental \"y'alls\"
From Rosettas and Roseannes
I'm from daily arguments and
Christmas trips to the movie theater,
From the \"stop complainings\" and
The \"stop arguing with your sister.\"
I'm from spending Sundays however I want.
I'm from people of many places,
From Macaroni and Cheese and
Friday night Pizza.
From Alison and I getting surrounded by ducks
After using a squirt gun to scare them.
From having paint wars with my sister and neighbors.
From family photo albums gone up in flames,
Spending time with family reading,
Sharing clothing with my sister.
Where I come from is different then where
Everyone else comes from but
Every person is different from each other,
Including me
