story about winter

A short story by Patrick B

It’s a shrill winter night darkness surrounding your entire body. You shake and shiver but cant escape the cold within you’re your body and the darkness around you.it swallows the entire soul whole with no recognition for soul’s body. Your body now weight less floats to the ground as a leaf in the fall. Almost unnoticed by the cruel harsh winter spirits. You are left lifeless with nothing but the midnight air to hold on to. You slowly drift away from reality you melt into the area around you and become the spirit that once took you away. you are the keeper of the cold spirits trying to escape with nowhere to go but down left with nothing to hold on to but bitter midnight air. As you take them they fall into the night but unlike you they can’t escape this reality. They are left to freeze with no source of warmth. They are left u noticed by everything. They see everything yet no one sees them. They are the forgotten souls of the winter night left to wrought because they went left unnoticed. Like a gentle leaf floating away they were forgotten but they never left they couldn’t. there was no escape from the grip of the cold winter night.
