The moon was full, it's haunting glow sent shivers down Echo's 's spine. It reminded her to much of her duty, her destiny and it wasn't something she enjoyed. Her fiery red contrasted with the white moon but her violet eyes seemed to blend in like they were stolen from the moon's surface. Silently walking alone wasn't the most sensible thing Echo had done in a while, it felt great. All was silent, not even the barber shop quartet gave her the willies.
Then it happened, she was almost expecting as she left the streets and into the woodland reserve. Something paranormal was going down and it was near. High above her the moon disappeared it's wicked light was cut, brutally murdered in it's prime. Whistling through the brittle trees the wind carried a deadly tone, warning her of impending trouble. Whizzing behind her a bee flew past followed by everything else left in the woods. Slowly working her way down to the other end of the woods until she could smell sulphur. This wasn't good, someone was trying to summon something or even worse bringing something back.
Peering through the singed leaves, her wandered across the seemingly empty ditch. Her eyes suddenly saw something. It was small. It wasn't alone. First the much larger thing came out through the bushes. A tall Italian man, wearing a long black cloak on the back was a strange symbol something Echo didn't recognize. He was dragging a cage behind him, inside was a frightened young boy, now older then four or five. Sensing he was in danger Echo leapt out from the bushes.
Hey!! Trouble here sir,” Echo shouted.
Yeah!!” The man shouted back.
And that is!!”
You bitch!! Did you really think I am that stupid!!” He bellowed.
Without any warning she flew towards him, stopping dead in his grasp. She struggled for a while, kicking and cursing loudly. Without cause or reason he let her go. Her shock lasted all of two seconds. Out of nowhere a burst of pink flame materialised in her palm. Standing next to the man, she hesitated. Rookie mistake, she thought but he did nothing. Curiosity wasn't something she enjoyed but somehow she felt he was someone she knew from years back maybe even when she was a child.
Do I know you?” She asked forgetting about the terrified boy.
Do you know you?”
Great I'm talking to a fortune cookie,”
Just like your mother, quick witted.”
You know my mother how?”
He didn't reply.
His eyes darkened as he honed in on the young boy. Ripping the cage door open, he smiled a wicked smile. No matter who he was, he wasn't going to harm a little boy. Blasting him the back, pink fire soared right through him. He was resistant to her powers. Spinning on his heels, he glared at Elle. Peeling away from his bones, his flesh dropped to floor. Muscles bulged bigger and bigger. To her it was almost like watching the hulk transform. His transformation looked severely painful. Grabbing the boy, she ran through the forest.
What's your name sweetheart?”
Jake Stevenson. The boogie man killed my parents,” Jake whimpered in Echo's arms.
Punching his way through the trees, the man's hulking demonic appearance was almost behind Echo and Jake.
Her red hair blew wildly over her face, almost blinding her. Seeing a cave close-by, she ran for it. Inside was completely different. Inside was another world. Hills, towers and so much more filled the
area as far as the eye can see. Both of them were shocked, which was made even worse by the swarm of
fairies soaring around them. CRASH. The man burst through the cave, no one was in the cold, damp and
empty cave. No Echo. No Jake. Nothing not even a fairy. They were gone. His plan had worked.
Walking hesitantly through the warm, golden meadows, Echo carried Jake across the fields unaware of
where they were. Darkness rolled in faster then she expected it to. Something whispered in her ear
beckoning her to the woods. Completely hypnotised Echo wandered through the woods with Jake still tucked
in her arms. Passing several trees before she came onto a a green stone path, that lead as far as the eye
could see. Coming out of her trance Echo could see a glittering tower in the distance but behind the bushes
was a carriage, it's black horse seemed to be almost skeletal, the coach itself emitted a strange darkness about
it.
Stepping in front of the skeletal horse, with warning Echo threw a huge pink fire ball at the horse. Disintegrating into a pile of dust, the carriage came to a halt. Putting Jake down on the floor, she waited. Pulling her long, red hair into a pony-tail. The door swung open, a small, shrivelled old man jumped out followed by a beautiful young woman with long jet black hair. Her skin was almost white, her long black dress hugged her body, fitting like a glove. The corset wrapped around her waist, with no straps to hold it up. The gold detail followed her curves.
Hello Echo, my name is Yolena,”
And you are?,”
Green flames, similar to Echo's pink flames, blasted Echo straight in the chest; colliding straight in the carriage. Tamara throw Jake into the bush beside her. The drive appeared in a puff of silver smoke. Whipping the skeletal horse, he cackled as the carriage began to take flight.
Echo, my dear. You probably wont see that brat ever again,” Tamara whispered sweetly.
Let us go!!”
Ignoring her Tamara continued, “I'm going to take you to see the Master,”
Let me go you stupid bitch!!” Echo screamed again.
Can't you smell it. Destiny is in the air,”
The End
