Before I woke up this morning,
we were laying under a tree,
barefoot,
with a bright sky
golden grass
and mountains in the distance.

I was singing, and you were thinking
and when I was done you said to me:

Most people think that to become a man,
you have to stop being a boy.
It isn't true.
You have to take that boy,
and make him a part of
the man
that you wish to be.

Any other way is
death.

And I cried,
and laughed,
and sang some more,
and in the mountains there was a great clapping,
because you gave me the answer
to the question
I hadn't known to
ask.
