Since I was little, I always had that feeling that I didn't fit in.
I mean, I was accepted by people, admired even,
but, like a foreign puzzle piece,
or a manufacturing defect,
I was either too big, or too small for the whole picture.
So, I would trim myself to fit the hole.
Each time, a different shape.
Each time, more and more of me being trimmed.
When I got a little older,
I realized that the world isn't as big as I thought it was.
There was less room to move in.
And a less but precise piece was demanded from me.
So I kept on trimming.
Until I was society's perfect little piece.
The piece that contributes to that beautiful picture we call a happy life.
But, I wasn't happy.
So, I asked myself,
Why?
If I kept doing this to myself,
What would I be like 10 years from now?
Would I still be able to recognize myself?
Or am I going to be shaped down to a small square puzzle piece?
The same as everyone, just a different part of the picture.
So, I picked up all of my pieces,
And taped myself back together.
The cracks that people see are the mistakes that I have made.
Mistakes I had to make,
in order for me to understand who I really am.
Little did I know, I was already perfect.
