The paper ripped in a hundred pieces.

My heart folded so many times over

I forgot its there; forgot the creases.

Those pieces of paper carry you through

Life, but forsake the one that we past shared.

The glisten in your eye like morning dew.

Conveying a fraction of the love it beared.

And lifes visage a glowing shining hue.

The violent shreds swim soft in the sea breeze.

They dance- my mind focuses on past, now,

Which one I can't recall; memory can't please.

Recurring image, that's all it'll allow.

But now I see you sing softly for me,

Your smile matching mine is all I can see.
