Declined Valentine

I did everything in my power to make this day great.

I cut up little red hearts and put glitter on them and slipped them to her, she turned up her nose at them.

I stole some sherbet colored roses from a grave; they smelled so fragrant and by the way side they went.

I spent my last dollar on chocolates sweets; she said they were neat, then cast them aside.

I sat and pondered and wondered what could please my Valentine?

I’ve got it, the fact that I thought of her and wondered about her throughout the day.

And all she wanted was a personal poem anyways.
