 I stand beside you
As the wave crashes against the cliff
Listening to you saying
"I wish you could hear that"

I sit beside you
As the bird sings in the tree
Watching you mouthing those words
"I wish you could hear that"

I walk beside you
As the children laugh in the park
Seeing you repeat the words
"I wish you could hear that"

My friend, I "heard" the waves
I "heard" the bird singing
I "heard" the children laughing
For my eyes are my ears.
I listen with my eyes
I only wish you could see that.
