Short it may be, good it is. Words well chosen and deliberate.
As are yours, my old friend.
I went away for a while. When I began writing again I was sad to see that you had upped stakes. I never got to know you or your poetry.
I love that very last line : Be humble, not proud.
Humility is so underrated. We all need to learn to be humble. With ourselves, with others.
Love the poem, craaig. Keep it up.
I'd even pity po' li'l' ol' humility.
But, I'm fed up with irony this week.
this is good to a point, right on the dot, craaig, good job
. Thanks, meg.
short and sweet:)
i like it.:)
Thanks, Slender Smile. I never thought of my thoughts as sweet. But , now that you mention it... yeah sweet. Glad you liked it.
nice, it was short and sweet! i like it a lot! :)
Slender Smile beat you to the punch, Mae. I guess it must be twice as sweet now. Did you read his comment or is this some sort of amazing coincedence this hour?
Thanks for your kind comment.
its short , but i like it...
short poem, short (sweet) comments... thanks
the poem does say alot;
we search far and wide for what we already have.
humility; to be humble is not an easy thing.
you hear people talk about it but to truly be it is not easy. I think one can only aspire with the thoughts of humility. When I think of humble or humility I think of Mother Therese or the Christ.
anyway :) it is a nice poem, I like Irwins comment how he says: "words well chosen and deliberate"
have a great day Craig
Yes, it is difficult. That's why i say it out loud, daily.
Then I can be humble... for a while...
When we try to uphold such high examples as Mother Therese, Brother Lawrence or even Jesus Christ we set ourselves up for disappointment or low self-esteem -- not humility. Better to be thankful for what little humility we can hold attain for today. Tomorrow we may be deluded again.
All the best,
Short but powerful poem philosophically. I like it.
Thank you, aruntp. I'm glad you appreciate the power. For, this is most powerful for me as well.
Let me try and be as short
Even shorter: Thanks.
It may be short, but you said it all, lol
Yeah, I liked it very much.
Your pretty good at the short stuff, keep it up.
god Bless you, angellynn.
Thanks, angellynn. I like to keep it up and will. Only thing is: inspiration comes as it comes. I'll have a look again now.
I absolutely adored the last line...so very you ...
Thanks again, Pratibha.
'Bye for now...
to comment is without humility
To respond is...
In lieu of no new craaig poem to read I will peruse one I haven't yet perused. And like everyone above I truly appreciated the message in this put so succinctly. Humility. I would need to look within to know if I truly have it? Sometimes I am humbled by things so beautiful that I cannot replicate it in words or art. A photograph does not convey the sweet smell of a rose and often there are things that leave me speechless. Then I am humble.
Cheers! A special poem.
