One more ride ‘round the roller coaster

My Coney Island's well-worn tracks

This ride used to be exhilarating

Now simply tolerating

The buffeting

Receiving

Not ‘as if' my mind has a mind of its own

Wrestling for control of the joyless stick

Spinning diving climbing outward roll

Pumping the brakes my will cannot

Dump this energy on other bodies

Fellow travellers of cyber void

Cacophony of colour

Squeezed into black

White enveloped

Mother tongued

Slowed down

By friction
