Teapots Full of Tears

I wrote a note of sympathy for you

In my symphony of fears

About a churchmouse drowning

In a teapot full of tears

I said

I stood

Alone

Against

Abstractable emotions

That flow and sweep

The fragile souls

Into the drowning ocean

You shed a drop of love for me once

It flowed like a streak of venom

Down your white impassive flesh

Still unstained

Sweet and spiced

Still filling teapots

Drowning mice

I should drown

Or tear apart

This teapot that

Was once my heart.
