Who is Justin Beiber and what has he done for me lately?

I don't understand celebrity culture. I have no interest in people I will probably never meet, but then I am old and cynical, and live in a remote part of the world that is thankfully free of attention seeking fame junkies. I think people who are largely famous for being famous are shallow and vacuous, like Kim Kardashian, or Paris Hilton. Honestly, what have they ever really done other than being born into famous families? We should treat them with utter contempt and ignore them completely, in the hope that they will disappear from the media spotlight, or produce something worthwhile to justify the interest society has in them, which I suspect they are incapable doing.
Does Justin Beiber write his own songs, or is he merely a manufactured phenomena able to cash in on his youthful good looks. I have nothing against Justin per se, but I don't listen to his songs, as they probably appeal to a demographic I have little or no contact with. I also have absolutely no interest in his personal life, or anyone one else in the media for that matter. If it helps them sell product, so be it, but I suspect most media gossip is simply fallacious, which means untrue for those of you with a tenuous grasp of the English language. Andy Warhol once said that in the future everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes, and I think Justin's fifteen minutes expired some time ago. Perhaps it is time to find a new idol, or else completely abandon the cult of celebrity and appreciate those with agendas other than self promotion, who will ultimately be forgotten, or more likely disgrace themselves having become trapped in a vacuum of celebrity alienation. But what would I know? I'm just an old cynic who doesn't understand the modern world.
