I am crushed by the speed

it looked serene, like a royal ocean

Drawing closer, I dreamed

about my new life

Raising children after

finding love in this

distant piece of the

solar system

I thought about how

many dramatic landscapes

with varied city-states

lie beneath the blessed haze

I could taste the juice

on my lips

Then, like the plosive sound

I was the first of my people

to feel damned violence

Warped, saddening, hurtful:

Others followed.
