The Dragon’s Tooth

Once upon a time there was a dragon that lived in a dark messy cave. He never had any real friends to play with. The only thing he had that he cared for dearly was a tooth he kept in a glass jar. Now you’re probably wondering what a dragon was doing with a tooth. Well this was no ordinary tooth. This was a magic tooth. Whenever someone would touch it all their wishes would come true. The dragon however could never make the tooth possessed this power because he was selfish and his wishes would never come true. He tried several things like tricking the tooth into believing he was someone else. But the tooth was way smarter than he thought. He knew one day his wish would come true. One day when the dragon was in his cave eating his breakfast, he noticed that the tooth was jumping up in down in the glass jar. The dragon got up and examines the tooth and shook the glass jar to make the tooth stop jumping up and down. Nothing seems to work so he took the tooth out and looked at it more closely. All of a sudden the tooth burst into flames and the dragon panic and took the tooth outside to the stream near the cave. He places the tooth in the water and the tooth was burnt and destroyed. The dragon began to cry and cry. He had no idea the tooth was badly damaged. The dragon forgot that magic teeth do not last forever and they burst into flames when the magic is all gone. The dragon wished he made a wish. He really wanted friends. He thought he was a nice dragon but deep down he knew he was selfish. I don’t deserve friends thought the dragon. The dragon left the stream and went back to his dark messy cave. The dragon sat down on the hard concrete floor and cried. He was so sad. What happen next was surprising. Out of nowhere a small little mouse came into the cave. The dragon wiped his tears and looked at the mouse. The mouse was small and very cute. The mouse however did not run away when he saw the dragon. The mouse came toward the dragon’s feet and looked up at him. The dragon lifted his hand and the mouse jumped on the palm of his hand. The dragon looked at the mouse and asked “will you be my friend?” The mouse looked at the dragon and nodded his tiny head. The dragon jumped for joy. The dragon finally had a friend. The mouse was happy as well. The mouse traveled a long distance. He was looking for a home and a friend. The dragon realized he didn’t need the magic tooth to have a friend. He just needed to realize that having friends means think of others besides you. The dragon was never selfish again. He finally had a friend.
