Walking through the forest near Salem, I took notice of many things that had changed since Global Warming had begun. The trees seemed weak, the leaves on their branches weighing down their limbs,
making them droop towards the ground. Strange flowers had began sprouting about, the undergrowth had doubled in thickness within the past few months, and peculiar events had started to take
Mushrooms the size of houses were scattered here and there, emanating the smell of danger and destruction. Once, in a time now forgotten, bright flowers had shown through the thick vegetation, their colors as clear as glass. Their shriveled bodies covered the ground, barely visible beneath the destructive plants that had grown in their place. Everything in this dark, dreary place seemed cold, and unfeeling. It was as if this place was part of a darker reality.
The thicker the vegetation grew, the harder plants from a previous time, tried to maintain life, and live through this devastation. The earth as we knew it, was dying. New, dangerous plants had taken the place of flowers, and shrubs that we had studied since the dawn of time. Not only were the animal and plant life trying to survive, but the human race began fighting for survival as well.
No one dared travel these parts, for anything could happen, no matter how ridiculous. People were taken under by vegetation. This forest, and similar ones that were found around the world, were treacherous. Vines and the like grabbed and tore at my clothing while I walked. I ignored their attempts of bringing me down. I was not going to be another victim of the crisis happening everywhere,
Around the world, pain and suffering were occurring, caused by Global Warming. There was nothing the world could do, but sit, and watch, while the earth crumbled beneath them.
