Why do I wear stripped pyjamas day and night “
all this drama but my mother say it’ll be alright
chains on my ankles and my hair shaved bald
it’s the mark of the Jew I am told
Shackled and chained treated like a slave
In my mind that the only place I feel safe
They hit me and whip me until I bleed
They say there’s no one else to blame but me
People going and not coming back
they call it the silent killer when families get gassed
But I hear the screaming the crying and I feel their pain
then it all goes quiet again
I can’t sleep in fear of dying
mothers killed leaving children crying
Nazi’s smiling, hailing Hitler
I can believe they laughed as they killed my sister
“why do you hate me what’s different between me and you”
they say “EVERYTHING, you’re just a Jew”
chains on my ankles and my hair shaved bald
it’s the mark of the Jew I am told
