I injected your gaze into my veins

I inhaled your every word

I consumed your smile

Like it was the last meal I would ever eat

My body thrived on those days I would get to see you

My mind craved every last look

My heart would race with your mere nearness

My lungs ached to breath in our conversations

I would reach such a high when you would walk in the room

And that high would last as long as you were near me

But once you left

Once you said goodbye

I would crash

Crash hard and ache and yearn for that next fix

You consumed every inch of my mind

You left your mark with every touch

How can I learn to survive without you around

How will I learn to be normal again after having so much of you

My heart will never have a regular rhythm again

There will always be that beat that skips where you use to be
