A Cry

A torn heart and starving child

In a far away land of dust and heat

Calling to a world for release,

To be at peace,

And live a decent life of natural rhythm

Unordered by a foreign schism

Introduced by greed.

Africa!

Raped by companies and men!

Forgive our North American yen

For consumer goods when

The cost is so dear in human lives.

Give me the strength to realize

It is me in my programmed way

That must change

And see the day

When ALL see we are intertwined.

What hurts thee also hurts me

Till being becomes love inclined.

I must feel your need

And act,

Or we are lost, indeed.
