The argument began not with spilt drinks,
over attires worn less than they are draped,
as an accessory to copious quantities of aftershave.
Nor was it ungracious displays over the aesthetically appeasing.
Moreover the cause was the way one thinks,
of the manliness eroded by fermenting grapes.
Irrelevant the fact of identical results, the way that we behave,
to impress the tantalising, and by extension, the pleasing.
To bring clarity to the debate, or so they believed it to be,
was the barbaric act of flying fists.
This, an accessory to the result of the by-gone night,
and of six percent and twelve point five respectively.
Later in A & E party one would proclaim to see,
that 'it was cause and effect if you get my jist'.
The cause, intoxication, the result of fight or flight,
of which the former was acted upon without thought objectively.
When questioned later before his peers, party two would proclaim,
that in the eyes of the reasonable man he had not acted unjust.
More adequate was it to say that manliness was compounded,
into a singularity of bone, muscle and fortitude.
Comparatively the atheist psychiatrist would explain,
that if all feelings of men were condensed, including anger and lust,
we would be no more than eunuchs of emotion, no longer profound.
So contradictory was party two’s claim, who was thus convicted of crassitude.
