Dirty little secrets

Dirty little secrets

Dirty little lies

Secrets whispered in his ears

He hides them all inside

Sweet and quiet grown up threats

That gives his terror rise

The images he hides within

Become things he will despise

Dirty little secrets

Dirty little lies

Always they protect the abuser

While inside the victim dies

They perpetuate the sickness

But it’s the truth that it defies

In the innocence of his youthful mind

It’s the betrayal he cannot recognize

His love and trust of the abuser

Gives his mind an illusion to rationalize

Dirty little secrets

Dirty little lies

The wounds penetrate to unimaginable depths

But it’s the loneliness that lives behind those eyes

In the cold darkness of his mind

No one ever hears his cries
