Spot in the Field

At midnight, I look up to the sky
Just staring, as time passes me by
Spaceous stars, comets blaze
Moon seeping through a misty haze.

The light reflects from the moon's dull face
Beaming directions, that slot into place
All the colours from a monochrome scale
Can always reach where the others have failed

The light can weave, can trace, can turn
Around the largest flower, or the smallest fern
It brings out beauty that noone can see
A new world of life surrounding me

I look forward and see you in an open field
Darkness protects you, one massive shield
The light does not touch you as you stand there alone
A perfect spot, one that cannot be shown

I walk forward to see what is the unknown
The silence is eerie, so far away from home
Moving waist deep through patches of grass
Struggling freely, slowing up fast

As I approach, you being to fade
Away into nothing, no more darkened gaze
I reach into, the mystical cave
And grab your hand to propose a trade

You stand before a darkened spot
See me no more, you can not
I see you among your earth
Of all the things, I see you first

The light can weave, can trace, can turn
Around the largest flower, or the smallest fern
It brings out beauty that noone can see
You are the most beautiful thing surrounding me

At midnight, I look up to the sky
Just staring, as time passes me by
In the darkened abyss, I forever remain
Just to see you, smile again.
