It was years after the war, the second... Poverty was a common thing and money wasn’t a thing in the life. Life was more about Sun, water, fish, sponge fisherman, a little drink… In Greece we were, in the ancient Gods country. And people were like gods in this country, those years where there was no money, air you breathe, water you dive, music you listen is for everyone…

Antony was a fisherman’s boy, which life turned him a man on an Aegean island of Greece. Aged 17 he was to dive for sponges with the crew of his father's small boat. The more experienced sponge fishermen were admitting that the boy was doing a good job.

“Antony hey you boy you did it again Ha ha ha!”

“Well done newbie…”

“Now that you showed them…”

The crew was all talking about him, the whole village was talking about him… When there was no money when there was love in a lost Greek island village under the sky of white blue over the sea of purple-blue…

“I’ll have a surprise for you old men, about the amount of sponges. I’ll collect twice this next time…”

“Ooo, fisherboy, do calm down, here drink this…”

“Hmmm, that's what you need, no dreams…”

They were unmounting the parts of the old diver's suit that his grandfather once wore… He was truly an image of him. Bravest to the end, stubborn and full of life. Then it was a sunny afternoon they made their way to the village port.

Maria was there, waiting unsure that her Antony had made it through… Antony was laughing with his father, each other's arms on the shoulder as they step out the boat. Likewise dancing. When there wasn’t a thing like Money, where you cannot buy that thing…

Poor to the last penny, they were happy… waiting for a chance to gather more sponges, having the God’s favor, the prayer of their beloved ones was enough…

“O Antony you made it, you are shinning as a god…” Maria was the one for him, everyone knew that. The Greek Fisherman Boy was not a boy anymore, he made his money for the day that he was the man… Where Money meant nothing when everyone was poor in an Aegean isle of Greece…
