Here, where rills and foliage meet and tranquil waters glide,

A robin's joyous tree-top song has calmed my inner tides.

Attending to his melodies, benefits my days.

Cheering up my dreary soul, enlightened from his praise.

Could it be his whistling tune is sung with saddened breaths?

For those now fit with angels wings, soaring heaven's depths?

As Autumn ends, the answer fades in Winter's chilling greet,

My stay is shorter then i'd like; my footfalls must retreat.

"Sing, oh robin, sing once more, before the cold wind blows,

But know in my departure shall remain your afterglow."
