The wind whistles outside the windows,

The fire crackles in the fireplace,

as you hold me close

Silence wraps the house,

as we stare in one another’s eyes

Every time you tell me you love me,

a shiver slithers down my spine;

Like a snake in the grasslands

“I never want to let you go.”

“I couldn’t even imagine it.”

Your gentle words, proven otherwise

One compliment after another

How am I going to adjust to these new settings?

I know my heart is gentle,

Your hands heal it every hour

My world won’t crumble,

As long as you’re in it

My smile is brighter every day,

Without any delay

Your gentle words caress me,

As you push through my bad days;

I knew I was loved,

the moment I spotted you

My heart whispered,

“He’s just like the rest,

he’ll hurt you once more,

like the others did.

Your warm embrace,

the whispers that

send chills down my spine

I believe you’re different,

you’re a man I could never live  without

You’re gentle words, have changed me

In every way, thought and feeling
