Life ever so fleeting

Mountains rose and fell to dust.

Flesh rotted away, bones crumbled.

Flowers wilted and trees stumbled.

Little stories that would never be told,

Rain drops into the endless oceans of forever,

Lasting for the briefest of time,

Rippling through the water’s edge.

Civilisations emerged and collapsed,

Forgotten now, even by its own.

People lived and they died,

They laughed and they cried.

They loved and were loved.

When we fell from the overcast skies,

tears falling from God’s eyes.

We remembered every moment-

Every ounce of sadness and pain,

Every joy, every sensation,

To know that we had lived.

To know that we would be remembered,

Waiting for the inevitable,

As our symphony of life

Slowly closed...with a Smorzando.
