Craggy mountains growing endlessly

Upon the Sinner’s back.

Deep within his flesh sack,

He feels the weight mounting

And knows he’s found wanting.

He moves onward, broken and lame,

With nothing but Fate to blame,

For his wretched state,

trapped in the endless desert of futility,

Destined to lose his sanity.

The stench of the past permeated his pores,

Its sounds filled the empty soul,

lost in the swirling pools of memory.

Wraiths grabbed at his load,

Holding him back, whispering,

promising a return to happier days.

A single look was all it took,

For his scarred psyche to finally shatter-

Sentient sand grains sucked

down the glass of time.
