Forming of a diamond.....

A rough diamond is pulled from the darkness,

Born into a world where its true value is unknown,

It's washed but its absolute perfection remains unseen,

Its raw beauty isn't worth much in a world where time is money,

It must be shaped, polished and cut. The beauty of it lying in the minds of others.

The ring is forged and the cut diamond is set into place,

Once in place it's possible its form will never change.

The diamond moves from place to place and from person to person,

As it gathers its story it begins to dull,

It's knocked and becomes chipped,

It's lost and then found.

We are all diamonds that come and shine from the darkness,

Some of us too become dull, knocked and lost.

It's in these moments we must remember nothing has changed,

The diamond's a diamond at the start just as much as the end,

Why stop shining for a story.
