Diagnosed with Nyctophobia

Why would anyone take rest in a space without perception?

Lack of light is lack of warmth

What a cold black display without a glimpse of reassurance

The moon hints less an image than what the eye strains to see beyond the emptiness of the imagination

What may I embrace in the emptiness?

A cavernous rigid state of unconsciousness?

This overwhelming distress is triggered by disfigured perception

Should I be judged by my horrific assumptions,

through as they were,

what might be,

of my surroundings?

An ominous world floods the pitch dark spaces..,

Will I be held captive by a fugitive angel summoned by this phobic plight?

Why does it hide its presence behind the walls of blurry bareness?

Conflicted between illusion and reality

Hence the sounds of an unrhythmic beat from shrieks of opening doors

Or more dreadful ..,

when the pervading sense that a sinister being remains just out of sight behind the walls of thick emptiness within absence of light;

followed by, rhythmic footsteps of the unknown approaching

while the beats crescendo with an acceleration towards me..!

The hunter always has the advantage when its prey remains blind and motionless

Do you judge me irrational?
