One of my favorites. At least I thought it was very clever, but my Creative Writing teacher was not so impressed.

Questioning Meaning

D. Nichole Hanna

People often question their existence. Over the years they

have caused it to become an argument that

always concludes no closer to the answer. There have

been theories set forth by those

in the religious community who have concluded their

search believing that God is the creator

of all life, therefore we live to worship Him. Those in

the scientific communities have not found

meaning, but instead only posed more questions

of our greater purpose in

life.

There have been other beliefs, but not one

is better than the other. It is

no wonder that

one begins to question the

answer to existence when there has been a death

because tragic events cause us to fear for our own mortality. It is

the loss of being that has a great

significance to us, and that

is felt deep within the

different ages and backgrounds of humanity

for only then are we all connected to

everyone.

All of us hope

we will someday learn the truth. Most believe that our intent

can only be revealed once we have passed on. I feel that all I

really need to

do to find meaning

is read the first word in each line to learn how I should

live.
