The Leopard moved swiftly through the forest, bounding through undergrowth and trees branches with little effort.

He does not want to be late to this meeting of The Fold, for pressing business has prompted them to gather together, possibly for the last time.

Suddenly, as the Leopard was crossing a clearing, some Spotted Hyenas appeared. They formed their attack position, four to each side of the Alfa female and in a circular pattern.

"What say you, Oh Leopard of the Whispering Caves?" said the lead Hyena, laughing; the others joined in with their distasteful laughter, then stopped abruptly.

"Let me pass Sasha," Krusher replied, "I am in route to a meeting of The Fold."

Sasha snarled and said, "What meeting? Of this meeting I was not told!"

"Have you eaten the messenger again, or was it one of your gluttonous mates?" Krusher said as he snickered.

Then Krusher continued, "Besides, you have no place in The Fold, or in this rain forest for that matter. Now step aside!"

"It has been awhile, nearly 32 seasons sense we last met," Sasha snarled, and moved from side to side.

"Almost 33, and you were fortunate to have not felt my teeth in your thick unappetizing neck," Krusher replied.

With a cackle sound Sasha countered, "Well, this time it will be different! The last time was in the forest, you had your trees to hide behind and pounce from. But this time, different it is, and so shall be the outcome. I will have my revenge and you shall not be the dominate force in this forest.

In this clearing the advantage sides to us, there is nothing to hide you here."

"Ah, but time has sided with me and my kind," growled Krusher, "The Fold has been profitable and grown in number.

So you thought that this clearing would be your place of revenge, but alas, it is the place of your demise!"

With that said Sasha quickly looked to the edges of the clearing and saw the eyes of Leopards in the shadows, many Leopards, all around.

Short lived was this last Meeting of the Fold, for their business had found its end in no time at all.

Those last eight years had been a bountiful time for the female leopards that Krusher had mated with.

Krusher's past encounter with Sasha and her gluttonous group had freed the jungle of far too many predators; only Sasha had escaped with her life.

With the Spotted Hyenas absent from the jungle, there was more food available for the female leopards to raise their young.

So, you can see why the return of Sasha and her new group was not acceptable. The spotted Hyenas had to go, for good this time, and the Fold had agreed to make that happen.

To this day, no Hyena dares to make their home in the rain forests; --- at least, not the ones where the Leopards live.
