In the valley of the graves

Comes the Graver and his crew,

They come on the first of November

To do what they must do.

When the moon turns to the color of blood

And rises to the east of the planet Mars

Then the graves are seen in harsh moonlight;

Their numbers grow as do the stars.

The Graver grunts and the crew unloads

All the bodies from the devil’s plan,

Then they mysteriously dig, without spades,

In the graveyard known as Man.

Alas, we see, yet we are blind.

The valley cannot hold much more

And the shadow of doom, sorrow and glum,

Forever knocks at heaven's door.

It's all so sad that some are bad

And the others follow like sheep;

To the slaughter they go so willing

And like Lemming, from the cliffs, they leap.
