“Judge me not,” Bass Brinson said,
“The deeds I’ve done ain’t dark as yours,
Nor have I need of words from bores,

Telling me of right and wrong,
Or how my life could be improved,
I trust the Jesus in my day

Who takes my pain and sins away
And judges me just like a friend
And takes my hand towards my end.”

And knowing his words fell
On weed choked ground
And not wanting to waste his time and theirs,

He closed his lips and took the hand
That promised him a holy land
And holding his Jesus by his side

He walked his life until he died.
