There’s no one here
Auntie said in hairnet

And nightgown there’s
No ghost wandering

Here about your room
But Colin knew there

Was he’d seen Allen
Ginsburg’s photo in a

Book at school called
He thought Modern Poets

Of the Age and the picture
Had captured him like

Some bizarre echo and
Seemed to say hello and

Now Mr Ginsburg sauntered
About his bedroom peering

Through spectacles at pictures
On the wall staring out of the

Window at the moon like some
Silvery coin placed on black

Velvet and every now and then
With the eyes ablaze and wild

Head of hair and beard he became
The bogeyman that Colin feared.
