She looks quite sad,
The girl in the coffee shop,
Hank thought,

Having bought a cappuccino,
Sat and gazed,
Watching her walk

Here and there
In a hurried pace,
Sadness etched on her face,

Her eyes distant,
Although she did
Give a smile,

It was like one
Given to another
While awaiting bad news.

Perhaps some guy
Has let her down,
Or some creep

Has done her bad
And made her sad,
Hank mused, sipping

The coffee top,
Letting his eyes wander
Over her fine form.

If she were mine,
I'd treat her fine,
Wine and dine

And protect her
From the darn creeps
Of this creepy world,

But she's not,
And I'm just too old
For that kind of thing,

But a guy can dream,
Even when his secret love's
Got a sad heart and unhappy face.
